Significant difference! Consider the cost of hiring and training new employees...wouldn't you rather KEEP the staff you have and help them to take care of their families and themselves and not infect all the rest of your staff? Earned sick time is GOOD! Vote YES!

Re: News on three recently rented DTL Lofts

Awesome! Unfortunately, I hear that he's dropped a few of the songs from the performance (including the brilliant 'New Blood, Old Veins'), though I suppose he's making up the difference from the extensive back catalogue. Still, it's great to see he's as professionally active now as he ever was, and Erraticus is a perfect example of that (especially lyrically!). If it had been released, say, in the mid-70s around the time of Too Old Too Rock&Roll, I'm confident it would have been popularly if not critically heralded as among his best works ever. Today's market, perhaps less so. Either way, attendees are in for a treat! Enjoy the show.

Re: Interview with Ian Anderson – at Lynn Auditorium Saturday

Psyched for the show!

Re: Hawkins takes helm of Lynn Community Association

Congrats, Walnut! :)

Re: Repaving of Downtown Lots Begins Tomorrow Morning

Hope the sink holes in Buffum Street lot will be fixed, too.

Re: Euclid Avenue Construction Update

Work continues Wednesday!

Re: 11th Essex State Rep. forum in Nahant

On behalf of the Nahant Democratic Town Committee I would like to thank Lynnhappens.com for coming to our town to record this splendid forum. Higher scale jobs and professions mean more property buyers, tax payers, car excise taxes, local merchants supplying goods, a perfect interface with the new Central Exchange Arts & Cultural District, performance venues, all built swiftly and professionally by private investors or a consortium of studios. .....just SEE IT ! thank you for sharing the vision.

Re: Letter: Market Basket in limbo? Its a perfect location for a movie theater, music venue, skate park, urban farm, an incubator kitchen, or any one of a thousand other uses that would create much-needed jobs and put to use this abandoned waste of space.
I do love the name "Shoe City Studios" though.

Re: Letter: Market Basket in limbo? Why, I've spent days at home in nothing but pajamas! But on such a special occasion, important to so many, I wouldn't dream of showing up in such sloppy attire. Representing Lynn, Mayor Kennedy should have taken the time to dress appropriately. I appreciate that the mayor did come to the event, but sorry she embarrassed the town that she represents by not dressing like the occasion even mattered to her.

Re: Pride Flag Raised at City Hall Today

This was a great occasion for the city of Lynn. Hooray! May there be many more such celebrations for GLBT issues. But gosh, as some of the other commenters have already noted... it's too bad the mayor didn't dress for the occasion. I mean, really. Shorts and unlaced tennis shoes? I'll bet the clergy in attendance were better dressed than that. Please, Ms. Mayor, dignify your office with appropriate attire!

Re: Pride Flag Raised at City Hall Today

Did the mayor forget she had an event to attend, and popped over from the gym in those shorts? no? well then, the attire is deplorable and certainly not befitting an official representative of the City of Lynn.
