Re Q4: Businesses would NOT have to provide 40 nhours of sick time, workers will have to EARN up to 40 hours! Significant difference! Consider the cost of hiring and training new employees...wouldn't you rather KEEP the staff you have and help them to take care of their families and themselves and not infect all the rest of your staff? Earned sick time is GOOD! Vote YES!

Homo Erraticus is a fantastic album! Unfortunately, I hear that he's dropped a few of the songs from the performance (including the brilliant 'New Blood, Old Veins'), though I suppose he's making up the difference from the extensive back catalogue. Still, it's great to see he's as professionally active now as he ever was, and Erraticus is a perfect example of that (especially lyrically!). If it had been released, say, in the mid-70s around the time of Too Old Too Rock&Roll, I'm confident it would have been popularly if not critically heralded as among his best works ever. Today's market, perhaps less so. Either way, attendees are in for a treat! Enjoy the show.

Kevin, I have it on good authority that it was the vendor who postponed and gave us Sunday as our only option. They cite rough seas, which are not a problem on the protected Charles River.

so boston moves it to the 3rd to avoud the storm that took over 24 hours to go from middle of florida to south carolina (where it is now 230pm thurs 7/3)
and these moron inbeciles cancel lynn and move it to sunday when there is a slim chance the weather even hits conneticut before midnight.... what morons!!!!!!!!! i guess the 3rd is good for the idiots in office in boston but not in lynn!!!

Want to pay 800 per month have a yard and an entire house? Buy in the rural parts of lynn and still be close to boston and live in beautiful victorian house lined neighborhoods with access to hiking waterfront and young couples abound... screw renting it's for the nonfrugal financially unsound frivolous among us who are willing to fatten the boomer feudalist pocketts. Take a drive in east lynn 30 minutes from nh to boston to entire northshore including crane beach, newburyport and downtown salem 10 minutes away so many affordable autiful actual homes first time buyers qualify for fannie mae no down payment and first time buyer programs stop throwing your income away...just sayin

The site could accommodate a full-concept studio for films and the like... there would be room for the standard "back lot" generic sets, warehouse type space for building to suit, editing, sound mixing, set construction, meeting space, commissary (across the street !), dorm-like lodging for the crews who come in just for the job, a 'star row' of Winnebarge-ohs for the big names, a helipad, vehicle pool, and all sorts of jobs to support all this. Higher scale jobs and professions mean more property buyers, tax payers, car excise taxes, local merchants supplying goods, a perfect interface with the new Central Exchange Arts & Cultural District, performance venues, all built swiftly and professionally by private investors or a consortium of studios. .....just SEE IT ! thank you for sharing the vision.

Yes, a movie production studio might be a nice use for SOME of that site, and I definitely support this kind of creative approach, but its a huge parcel of underused land in a city with little development potential (at least on this side of 1a).

Why not expand that idea to benefit more folks who live and work in the community already? Its a perfect location for a movie theater, music venue, skate park, urban farm, an incubator kitchen, or any one of a thousand other uses that would create much-needed jobs and put to use this abandoned waste of space.
I do love the name "Shoe City Studios" though.

Calvin, this is a wonderful idea and an example of your outside-the-box innovative issues-based thinking. Your proposal certainly merits further discussion and an immediate preliminary feasibility study, with conclusions developed ASAP. Having movie production capabilities would be an economic development booster for our Region.

I'm all about being comfortable, on my own time. Why, I've spent days at home in nothing but pajamas! But on such a special occasion, important to so many, I wouldn't dream of showing up in such sloppy attire. Representing Lynn, Mayor Kennedy should have taken the time to dress appropriately. I appreciate that the mayor did come to the event, but sorry she embarrassed the town that she represents by not dressing like the occasion even mattered to her.

This was a great occasion for the city of Lynn. Hooray! May there be many more such celebrations for GLBT issues. But gosh, as some of the other commenters have already noted... it's too bad the mayor didn't dress for the occasion. I mean, really. Shorts and unlaced tennis shoes? I'll bet the clergy in attendance were better dressed than that. Please, Ms. Mayor, dignify your office with appropriate attire!

Did the mayor forget she had an event to attend, and popped over from the gym in those shorts? no? well then, the attire is deplorable and certainly not befitting an official representative of the City of Lynn. You're the mayor, act the part, dress the part or don't be surprised when someone mistakes you for the starbucks barrista - oh wait, they dress better! smh
